interior design

Working across all sectors, our interiors team collaborate directly with client organisations as well as developers and project managers to deliver superlative outcomes. Our extensive experience and continual research allows us to design spaces that match the current and future needs of both the occupier and building owner.

Rather than following a pre-established aesthetic, our designs emerge from a collaborative approach. They evolve from researching and understanding the conditions of each project brief and create purposeful solutions to design challenges. Carefully balancing creativity with commercial reality, we approach design holistically.

MASTER PLANNING

Our collaborative workshop approach is fundamental to our design process. We utilise to evolve briefs from complex client groups such as schools or large organisations. It has evolved over a number of years as the most efficient way to harness information about an organisation, its values and structures, and has the ability to engage, inform and enhance the relationship between client and architect.

The workshop is an inclusive and interactive process that involves management, staff, user groups and architects, enabling everyone to be part of the decision making process. It aims to recognise an organisations vision, values and objectives and information is gathered by conducting group discussions, simple exercises and brainstorming sessions. These help to create a clear brief and develop design strategies that are commonly understood, and fosters a sense of client ownership of the processes and outcomes.

PEDAGOGICAL UNDERSTANDING

Every education and training environment is unique as each institution has a different educational philosophy, aim and emphasis, and therefore, different pedagogical requirements.

Our team are experienced and well-versed in pedagogy and space, and are continually challenged to develop both innovative and pragmatic solutions for learning environments. We seek to design spaces that allow students the safety and support to engage fully in their learning. This may result in connected, more flexible learning spaces or, more structured teaching spaces. We believe in linking inside and outside learning spaces and incorporate new educational technologies in meaningful ways. Children learn in many ways and we aim to create choice and variety in the learning spaces we develop.
