Art Show 2017

May 26-29

Baldasso Cortese are proud sponsors of the St Kevin’s College Annual Art Show.

Celebrating its 47th year in 2017, this exhibition is pleased to be one of the longest running of its type in the country. The show draws leading Australian artists who exhibit a large number of contemporary artworks across a range of media.  Due to the central location of St Kevin’s College, art lovers enjoy easy access from across Melbourne to this event, which has attracted over 2,500 visitors each year.

Baldasso Cortese is excited to support such a great event for one of our clients with whom we have formed a long-standing and strong relationship. The exhibition will be held in the main assembly Smith Hall, one of our built projects, at their Toorak campus. We have also successfully completed several other exceptional projects across their junior and senior schools including an administration, art school, science and technology building, multi-purpose hall and a music school. View the projects here.

The Art Show runs from 26 to 29 of May. For more information please go to http://www.stkevinsartshow.com.au/

St John the Apostle Primary School | Stage 2 Construction Underway

It is great to see Stage 2 of the master plan for St John the Apostle Primary School located in Tarneit, Victoria under construction.

St John the Apostle Primary School is a new Prep to 6 primary school in Melbourne’s western growth corridor. The master plan was developed in 2013 through extensive consultation with the Project Steering Committee including representatives from the parish, community & Catholic Education Office. The school has been designed for 21stC learning with the child at the centre of our thinking and opportunity for the community to feel part of the school and engage in the day to day activities.

Stage 1 of the master plan included the construction of the Prep to Year 2 Learning Community and received high commendations in the 2015 Educational Facilities Awards from Learning Environments Australasia (formally known as the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International) within the category of New Construction of a Major Facility.

The Stage 1 Learning Community has a variety of internal and external spaces, featuring large openings to achieve a highly porous learning environment without losing the sense of intimacy and fun. Stage 2 will construct an adjacent building for Years 3-4 that will reflect this design approach and bring an overall transparency between the buildings that connects learners and creates a greater sense of community. A central outdoor learning area and stage acts as a communal and gathering space for teachers and students. A new school welcome and administration building will also be built as part of the Stage 2 works.
