With a Bachelor of Architecture Honours from Melbourne University and a current member of the Australian Institute of Architects, Anthony’s enthusiasm and passion sets the foundation for his ability to draw on people’s strengths and skills to build an exceptional team of design experts.
Combining his design skills with his commercial experience, Anthony became a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the CEO Institute and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Committed to Education and the community, Anthony is currently chair of the Planning and Facilities subcommittee at Sacred Heart College Geelong and is Deputy Chair of the School Advisory Council. His community involvement includes active membership of the Zimele organisation which works closely with the Edmond Rice Foundation and membership of the Order of Malta organisation working closely with other members in raising funds to support communities in need both in Australia and in Africa.
Steven provides inspirational design leadership across the practice and working with a team of design architects, develops an architectural language that is unique and appropriate for each project’s context.
Passionate about design, Steven specialises in environmentally sustainable design and believes that through intelligent design we can reduce operational costs and produce greener buildings. Steven encourages collaboration at every level between clients, staff and consultants, and works towards design solutions that balance time, cost and quality.
Steven studied Architecture at Melbourne University, he is current Chair of the Newman College Building Committee and a member of the Newman College Council (a co-educational residential College affiliated with the University of Melbourne).
Steven has led and designed numerous projects and he gets inspiration from the creativity of Alvar Aalto and Oscar Niemeyer, his favourite building is the Sydney Opera House.
Chief Executive Officer
Andy has broad international experience in a number of sectors including Healthcare, Commercial, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail, Urban Planning and Mixed Use developments across public and private sectors. His recent experience has been focused on leading the project and design management of large-scale complex developments drawing upon skills and expertise from around the world.
Andy leads Strategy and operational implementation utilising over 25 years of experience working with large multi-discipline design practices across the world. He has collaborated for many years with contractors and clients at a strategic level to enhance efficient project delivery processes, several of these projects have been cited as best practice in the UK.
He has a passion for collaboration in teams and has a particular strength in putting together and maintaining blended teams to suit client, project and business needs. He also enjoys encouraging development of innovative businesses and volunteers his time as a Board member to not for profit business incubators.
Head of Commercial
Murray is an architect with immense experience on commercial, retail and urban design projects. He believes the role of an architect is to provide professional leadership in the built environment, generating sustainable buildings and communities through an intuitive understanding of the positive impact of good design.
Design is about understanding the commercial, social, environmental and historic context of a project and providing innovative solutions that engage with the community.
Inspired by art and architecture that challenge perceptions and promote discourse, he cites the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Federation Square in Melbourne as key influences.
Director of Care
Neil works closely and collaboratively with our aged, child and primary health care clients to deliver quality, cost and time outcomes for their projects.
His direction of the design team, intimate knowledge of the building process and strong project management skills underpin a commitment to excellence.
Neil provides a strong customer relationship focus to each project through effective interpersonal, communication and project management skills. He brings energy, confidence and commerciality to achieving client objectives to provide the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Peter has wide experience on architectural projects in the UK, NZ and Australia. Peter works closely with his team to deliver school buildings across both our Melbourne and Christchurch offices.
Recognised for his expertise in master planning and educational architecture, Peter produces school designs and teaching spaces across the public and private sector that are at the forefront of contemporary practice.
Peter understands the importance of education to the community and believes that our role in designing educational spaces creates a responsibility to optimise the outcomes available in each project and to develop solutions that support the learning outcomes of all students.
Sector Leader | Health Care
Peter is a Registered Architect who is passionately interested in delivering assets that provide meaning and lasting value to communities. Over more than 30 years of professional practice, Peter has been closely involved in the detailed development of social infrastructure projects across a range of sectors, including residential aged care, health care, education, leisure, justice and workplace.
He is committed to creating quality, be it expressed through design or the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships. Throughout his career, he has deliberately focussed on those projects that positively contribute to broad community health and wellbeing.
Sector Leader | Residential
Graeme leads the residential sector with a strong focus on client relationships, attention to detail, design and project management.
Architect, Designer and Project Leader with extensive experience in this field, ranging from current Australia-based projects and previous UK-based projects, as well as a number of international design competitions and collaborations.
Graeme’s residential portfolio ranges from suburban housing developments and regeneration projects, to high-end single homes and multi-residential work. Whether the brief be to design a family home, a multi-unit suburban development or a mixed-use city development, his approach centres around designing spaces bespoke to their context and marketplace, whilst considering the lifestyle of the end user, incorporating good design principles and environmentally sustainable design solutions. His integrated and collaborative design approach adds value by delivering high-quality homes and communities that stand the test of time.
Current and previous project experience covers a diverse array of project typologies, including: residential (single and multi-residential); educational; ecclesiastical; masterplanning; commercial; industrial; leisure and community.
Sector Leader | Retail & Commercial
James has extensive experience in the development of major retail, entertainment, leisure, commercial, industrial, and sporting projects. He has over 40 years’ experience in architecture, both in Australia and overseas, including more than 25 years at director level in Architectural and property industry organisations.
In recent years, before joining BC, James consulted as a design and management specialist to Architectural firms, retail developers/managers, and retail and commercial trusts. He has spent over 14 years consulting to Gandel Retail Management (then Colonial First State Global Asset Management, novion and Vicinity) as a Design Consultant.
Throughout his career, James has had key involvement in master planning, feasibility studies, programming, design and documentation of new and redeveloped major retail and mixed use projects. For many years, James has taken a role in education, including guest lecturing and tutoring architectural, interior design and property management students.
James has an Honours degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and has an active interest in the application of sustainability principles to retail and other project types.
Senior Design Architect
Throughout Dev’s architectural career, he has worked for both public and private clients within the education, residential and commercial sectors in the UK, Hong Kong, NZ and Australia. His experience encompasses master planning, with a strong emphasis on the design of educational facilities and high density multi-residential developments.
Dev works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, bringing design and detail rigour to projects, and with a strong commitment to sustainability. Previously, Dev held positions at DCM and then HASSELL where he worked on Kingston High School in Tasmania, which achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating and won multiple awards.
Dev is currently serving on the sub-committee of Learning Environments Australasia, Victorian Chapter.
Director of Business Development & Marketing
Christopher has vast experience in the building industry across a number of prominent architectural firms. Specialising in the retail property sector, he has a broad portfolio covering projects for shopping centres, retail strips, supermarkets, mixed-use/town centre developments, bulky goods stores, showrooms, Greenfield development sites and proposed retail developments.
He has worked for Australia’s largest shopping centre owners including Westfield, Centro and Bunnings as well as renowned architectural companies specialising in retail architecture stretching from specialty shops/interior design to major retail developments.
Whilst remaining active within the Retail Sector overseeing and providing his expertise to the team within Baldasso Cortese, Chris’s focus is now on Business Development and he believes in providing a consistently high level of customer service to Clients.
Senior Project Architect
Vicki has more than 20 years of professional experience. During that time, she has delivered a diverse range of projects across the sectors of education, early childhood, community, health, leisure and workplace.
Vicki is proficient in project co-ordination, documentation, contract administration, team management and client liaison.
Vicki is passionate about public, community and institutional architecture. She is interested in the changing nature of pedagogy, and how spaces can support teaching and learning in educational environments. She has a particular interest in how community schools can take learning beyond the walls of classroom and transform their wider neighbourhoods.
Senior Project Architect
Ben’s professional experience of 15 years encompasses primary, secondary schools and early learning centre’s, and other diverse projects. Ben is proficient in all phases of a projects development and importantly, he is involved from the beginning of each project to the end of construction, providing project consistency for clients. Working collaboratively with clients groups, his team and consultants, Ben achieves successful outcomes on all his projects.
Having a keen interest as an educator and in design, Ben runs design studios for architectural master’s students at Melbourne University. He is interested in the diverse methods of education delivery and believes that cohesive, responsive and modern facilities can provide robust and fresh learning opportunities for students and educators.
