South Kensington, VIC

The architectural brief required the expansion of the existing centre from 75 to 115 child places.

The master planning concept was to foster the evolution of the facility to function under one manager. Previously the long day care, kindergarten and maternal and child health centres operated as separate entities albeit sharing the same building. Over time the child care services will evolve through a phasing of co-location, then co-operation (current status) through to consolidation and finally integration.

Externally, playful shapes and exciting colours were adopted to create interest. We believe the new facility provides delight to both children and parents using the centre.
