Ivanhoe Grammar School Creative Arts Facility

Ivanhoe, VIC

Baldasso Cortese prepared the brief and master plan for the upgrade of the existing Locksley House into a contemporary creative arts, music and drama facility.

This project will maximise ecologically sustainable design through the refurbishment of the existing building.

Apart from a new two storey communal entry for  the facility the design makes minimal changes to the external building fabric, concentrating on the opportunities afforded internally integrating Visual Communication, Music, Drama & Art into a creative hub that has a high level of transparency throughout to enhance student learning.

Locksley House is governed by a heritage overlay and the design will endeavour to satisfy local council planning and heritage requirements.
