The weekend of the 26th of August proved to be a very busy weekend for us at Baldasso Cortese.
Saturday started off at Mooney Valley Racing Course where the Assisi Centre invited us to their annual Race Day fundraising event. We enjoyed a beautiful 3-Course meal whilst bidding at both a silent and live auction, entering a raffle (where we won some fabulous prizes), placing bets and getting to know some of the wonderful Assisi family attending.
We then headed off to the Smith Hall at St Kevin's College to attend the Annual Zimele Fundraiser Dinner. Zimele works in partnership with the Edmund Rice Foundation to support sustainable health, education and community projects to build relationships in solidarity with underprivileged men and women in Africa. St Kevin's work alongside these compassionate companies to enhance the dignity of these individuals and communities through the empowerment of education. Needles to say, we were honoured to be a part of such an inspiring evening.
On Sunday the 27th of August, otherwise known as the Feast of St Monica, we had the pleasure of attending the Official Opening and Blessing of St Monica's recently refurbished Senior Learning Centre. The Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, The Very Reverend Greg Bennet, officiated a truly beautiful ceremony in St Monica's Church. The lovely ceremony was followed by Afternoon Tea where Anthony, Ben and Gabriella caught up with St Monica's Principal, Peter Moore (pictured left).
Many thanks to The Assisi Centre, St Kevin's College, Zimele, The Edmund Rice Foundation and St Monica's School for involving Baldasso Cortese. It was an absolute privilege to be a part of these special events.
