St Bernard’s College’s Margaret Tierney Centre

Last week Baldasso Cortese had the pleasure of attending the opening ceremony as the new purpose-built facility was opened by Most Reverend Martin Ashe, Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne and Ben Carroll MP, State Member for Niddrie and Victorian Deputy Premier, with guests, Dr Michael Davies, College Principal and Ms Pauline Duggan, Chairperson for the School Advisory Council.

The new Senior Centre Extension features a central internal amphitheatre space, accommodating up to 280 students. The building has been designed with flexibility in mind, so the space can accommodate a range of functions. Acoustic baffles hang from the ceiling clad in perforated Tasmanian Oak and Hoop Pine timber veneer panels, like upturned “stalactites”.

Congratulations to all involved!
